Hannah Secures 9th Place in Scottish Women’s Amateur Championship at Nairn

The prestigious Scottish Women’s Amateur Championship took place at the scenic Nairn Golf Club, witnessing some of the most promising talents in women’s golf. Among the standout performers was Hannah, who clinched an impressive 9th place in a fiercely competitive field.

Hannah's journey through the knockout stages was marked by impressive displays of skill and resilience, scoring a -4 score of 69 on the first round, followed by a +6 score of 79, leaving an overall score of +2 on the boards and a 9th place finish.

Hannah's performance in the stroke play rounds secured her a place among the top 16, allowing her to compete for the championship trophy. Her consistent play and determination were evident throughout the competition, showcasing her skill and composure under pressure.


Over the years, this championship has seen legendary figures like Catriona Matthew, Belle Robertson, and Helen Holm lift the famous silver trophy, etching their names into the annals of Scottish golf history. This year, the competition remained as intense as ever, with golfers vying to join the ranks of these esteemed champions.

The tournament commenced with 36 holes of stroke play on Friday. From this, the top 32 golfers with the lowest gross scores progressed to the knockout stages held on Saturday and Sunday. The top 16 golfers would then compete for the coveted championship trophy, while those placed 17-32 would vie for the Clark Rosebowl.


The championship also featured notable participants, including Jasmine Mackintosh from Murcar, the 2023 Helen Holm Scottish Women’s Open champion, and Lorna McClymont from Milngavie, an R&A Student Tour series winner. Their presence added an extra layer of prestige and competition to the event.


The Nairn Golf Club, renowned for its challenging links and breathtaking views, provided the perfect backdrop for this historic championship. The course demanded precision and strategic play, testing the mettle of each competitor.
